Exam Mode
DocsPlus is ideal for exams, as it can be tailored to a person's additional access arrangements by disabling prohibited features.
When enabled, Exam Mode is displayed in the bottom-left corner of the window. Trying to use a disabled feature will show a message.
When printing the finished Document, extra information can be supplied in the header and footer of the printout (such as Candidate Number and Subject).
To enable and configure Exam Mode, click
in the Options ribbon tab.
Password
Type the current password in the white box. If the box is gray, a password hasn't been set yet.
To add/change the password, click Set up password. Supply either the current password or your DocsPlus serial number.
If you're trialling DocsPlus, the password is cricksoft1999 and can't be changed.
Options
Having typed the password in the white box, you can then turn Exam Mode on/off, and select which features to allow in the Options tab:
- Document
- Wordbars
- WorkSpace
- DocReader
- Speech
- Read scientific and mathematical abbreviations
- Edit Cloze Documents
- Suggestions
- Spell Check & Autocapitalisation
- Edit DocsPlus Options
- Create User or Class
These settings are saved per Windows/Mac user account.
Speech
In some situations, speech feedback may only be permitted if abbreviations are spoken literally.
If so, ensure both the Speech and Read scientific and mathematical abbreviations boxes are checked.
